Today marks National Nurses Day and the beginning of National Nurses' Week; this year's theme is "Nurses: Building a Healthy America." RN Pathways, one of the most unique nursing organizations in the United States, is celebrating with the launch a new network to further its mission of helping nurses build healthy careers.
"We chose to bring this new resource to the world on National Nurses Day because helping nurses and their families is our passion," said RN Pathways spokesperson Joe Cockrell. "Now more than ever, nurses want more than just a listing of jobs on a static job board- they want personal expert advice and guidance. RN Pathways provides that in a way that is already changing the industry."
The website is one component of a unique digital and human network that RN Pathways has formed over the last several months- especially by incorporating social media platforms (such as Facebook and Twitter) into daily communication with nurses who seek career advice.
"We offer solutions for nurses no matter what their preference- whether that be email and online communication or live conversations with a real person," Cockrell said. "With today's technology, those live conversations no longer have to be on the phone; we've seen a dramatic increase in veteran-level nurses engaging in social media online- soon we'll be connecting with just as many nurses on Facebook as we are over the phone."
As part of the celebration, RN Pathways also launched contest where nurses who register as new users on the RNpathways.com website can win an iPod touch. In addition, there is an online promotion for those who want to salute nurses during National Nurses Week; you can win a new MacBook
